Last days the mayor of Alcantarilla, Joaquín Buendía, accompanied by the president of the Federation of Peñas Festeras, Juan Sornichero, went to the City of the Sun to propose to the mayor of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil Jódar, which this city will welcome this year's traditional coexistence of the ladies of the different Peñas Festeras de Alcantarilla, candidates to be the Mayor and Infant queens of our upcoming Fiestas de Mayo.
In this meeting were also present the Councilor for Citizen Participation, Francisco Javier Pelegrín and the vice president of the Federation of Peñas, Antonio Lajarín.
Once our Mayor, Joaquín Buendía, explained the importance of always having a municipality, this year as Lorca, to be a focus of the day of coexistence of our candidates for queens, as was the past in San Pedro del Pinatar, the significance of our Fiestas, as well as the presentation of the president of the Federation of Clubs, Juan Sornichero, the needs and the possible program to have during Saturday, April 6.
As expected and always having the positive response of the mayor of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, this City Council will receive the 38 candidates for queens, both older and children, the two queens last year, the jury, as well as the members of the Board of directors of the Federation of Peñas in this day of coexistence.
The expedition sewer will have in that day a visit to the city, by those points more attractive that the City council of Lorca determine, in which we will count as every year with the reception of the Mayor in the Town hall.
The Federation of Peñas Festeras, with its president, as well as the mayor of Alcantarilla, proposed to the mayor of Lorca and his councilor, to have their participation also in our parties, with a representation of the Lorca festivities in the Grand Parade of Carrozas, which we will have on Saturday May 18 and later Burning of the Witch.
