"Sewer DOES NOT COVER gender violence" (23/11/2018)

The reading of the Institutional Declaration of the 25N was carried out by Murcian journalists Concha Alcántara, Lola García, Silvia Cabrera and Lola Gracia, after the talk that was held earlier at the Infanta Elena Cultural Center

On the occasion of the commemoration of 25N, International Day against Violence against Women, the City of Alcantarilla, through the Department of Social Welfare and Health, within the Women's Area, have been developing a series of activities for this year. awareness for the general population, whose common denominator is the visibility of this problem in all social strata, seeking the involvement of all citizens to face and put "hands on" to eradicate it, through isolation social of the aggressors.

In the afternoon of yesterday, at the Infanta Elena Cultural Center, the central act of this commemoration took place, with the celebration of the Round Table: "Gender and Media Violence", in which the journalists Concha Alcántara intervened , Lola García, Silvia Cabrera and Lola Gracia, all journalists belonging to the Platform COLOMBINE, a platform born of the need to contribute to the fulfillment of the demands defended by women in the massive mobilizations of March 8, 2018 throughout Spain.

Spontaneously, the journalists of the Region joined that day to demand equality in the street and join the historic feminist manifestation that revolutionized the country and marked a before and after in our society.

The table is moderated by the news director of Radio Sintonía, Carmen Manzanera.

Concha Alcántara, focused her intervention on "Current situation of gender violence: progress and challenges", Lola García, with "The other side", Silvia Cabrera, with "Political woman and media" and finally Lola Gracia with " The invisible art ".

The COLOMBINE Platform, since its creation in May and until today, has worked in the defense of the values ​​of equality, non-discrimination and against any type of violence against women, so its members are actively collaborating in this objective from the more diverse areas and giving women the role they deserve in the media so that their voice is heard.

At the end of it, the Institutional Declaration of the Region of Murcia was read, in charge of the four Murcia journalists of the Platform COLOMBINE, finishing the ceremony with some words of the Mayor of Alcantarilla, Joaquín Buendía, who thanked the program of activities that had been prepared by all the professionals of the Department of Social Welfare and the CAVI itself, to try to raise awareness day by day with this type of actions in order to eliminate in a definitive way gender violence and sexist against women.

The program has only the collective painting exhibition "Mujer Igualdad de derechos", which will be inaugurated next Monday, November 26 at 8:30 p.m. at the Infanta Elena Cultural Center, open to the public until December 12. , with the collaboration on this occasion of the Department of Culture.
