The new rooms of the Huerta Museum open to the public with a masterful exhibition of "Artists from Murcia second half of the twentieth century" (25/10/2018)

45 paintings and 15 sculptures by Murcian artists, selected works for this exhibition of private collections of Alcantarilla.

It will be open until next January 8.

In the afternoon of yesterday the new exhibition halls were inaugurated in the basement of the Museum of the Huerta, next to the new elevator to facilitate the accessibility to them.

They will house a masterful exhibition "Artists from Murcia second half of the 20th century", with 45 paintings and 15 sculptures by Murcian artists, all of them selected for this exhibition of private Sewer collections.

The exhibition will be open to the public on the days that the Museum opens to the public from Tuesday to Friday, from 9 in the morning to 7 in the evening, on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the morning and 4:00 p.m. at 7:30 p.m. in the afternoon and on Sundays and holidays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., on Mondays, like other national museums, it is closed to the public.

Prior to the inauguration the Exhibition Commissioner and one of the collectors who have contributed several works of his private collection, Joaquín Cantón, together with the Councilor for Culture, Tourism and Celebrations, María Luisa Martínez León, in her condition also a graduate and a doctor in Fine Arts, they offered a talk that was moderated by the Municipal Culture Technician Clara Sánchez Baldó, making an extensive tour of all the authors of the exhibited works.

The mayor of Alcantarilla, Joaquín Buendía, thanked all those who made this exhibition possible, especially the great architect of it, the sewer collector Joaquín Cantón, as well as all those who had decided to collaborate by contributing their works, some of them attending to the opening ceremony, as well as to one of the authors, who are also present.

He also indicated that during this year that we commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Museum of the Garden, he has been making several gifts, some of them for improvement, as it is to make available to the public two rooms in the basement of the Museum , which until a few months ago were warehouses and the installation of an elevator to facilitate accessibility for people with disabilities.

People wishing to visit the exhibition will find 45 paintings by Vicente Viudes, Mariano Ballester, Andres Conejo, Molina Sánchez, Sofía Morales, Muñoz Barberán, Pina Nortes, Aurelio, Manuel Avellaneda, Pedro Cano, José María Párraga, Ángel Hernánsaez, Ángel Haro, Antonio Ballester, Miguel Calatayud, Carrión Valverde, Dolfo, Nicolás Martínez and Anastasio Martínez.

And 15 sculptures by José Planes, González Moreno, Elisa Seiquer, Antonio Campillo, Aurelio, Hernández Cano, José Molera and Anastasio Martínez.
