Sewer welcomes tomorrow the institutional act of the Day of the Region of Murcia (08/06/2018)

The regional chief executive, Fernando Lopez Miras, will preside tomorrow, Saturday, June 9, the institutional act of the Day of the Region, in commemoration of the XXXVI Anniversary of the Statute of Autonomy, to be held at the Infanta Elena de Alcantarilla Cultural Center.

During the act, the Gold Medal of the Region will be awarded to the Regional Confederation of Business Organizations of Murcia (Croem), the chef Pablo González Conejero, the National Organization of the Spanish Blind (ONCE), the Manuel Masotti Littel Higher Music Conservatory , the Juan Tudela Legs trovero, 'Uncle Juan Rita', and the Hospitality of Lourdes.

Also, the Tie of Honor will be given to the General Air Academy of San Javier and the Diploma of Distinguished Services to the Legal Council of the Region of Murcia;

The Regional Confederation of Business Organizations of Murcia celebrates its 40th anniversary this year as a catalyst for the regional business fabric, generating opportunities and fostering the creation of jobs.

Pablo González-Conejero

Pablo González-Conejero (Murcia, 1971) is the only chef in the Region of Murcia with two Michelin stars.

He is a trainer of professionals in the Tourism Qualification Center of the Region of Murcia since 2012 and in January of this year he was awarded the Chef de l'Avenir (chef of the future), awarded by the International Academy of Gastronomy.

Uncle Juan Rita

Juan Tudela Legs, known as 'El Tío Juan Rita' (Aledo, 1912) began his career as a troubador when he was just over 30 years old and continues today.

In his long career, he has been able to transfer the talent and enthusiasm needed to keep this tradition to the hearts of both trovers and musicians throughout Spain.

'El Tío Juan Rita' was honored with the Diploma of Distinguished Services of the Region of Murcia in 2012, when he turned one hundred years old.

The Autonomous Community declared the trovo as an Asset of Cultural Interest with an immaterial character in 2014.

Hospitality of Our Lady of Lourdes

The regional government recognizes the value of the Hospitality of Our Lady of Lourdes for the society of Murcia, as a benchmark in the world of volunteering and the great work they do for the elderly and people with disabilities, on their pilgrimage to Lourdes (France) .

Agustín Navarrete

Agustín Navarrete Montoya (Albox, Almería, 1943) is a medical oncologist and for nearly two decades he has presided over the Spanish Association for the Fight against Cancer (AECC) of the Region of Murcia, to which he belongs since 1970 and which has more than 2,500 volunteers .

He has been the head of the Oncology Service of the university clinical hospital Virgen de la Arrixaca until July 2013, when he retired.

Antonio Muñoz

Antonio Muñoz Beraza (Bilbao, 1957) is CEO of the citrus producing and exporting company AMC Juices, which is part of AMC Group, the second Spanish group in the food sales ranking in the international market.

A graduate in Economics from the University of Deusto and an MBA from the Stanford Business School in California, Muñoz has stood out for implementing a strategy based on investment in R + D + i, which has innovation as its main driver of business growth.

Juan García Lax

The horticultural entrepreneur Juan García Lax (Murcia, 1936) has stood out for his commitment to the economic and social development of the Region of Murcia, within a trajectory marked by the leadership in the importation of fruits and vegetables throughout Europe.

Starting from a family business, García Lax has based his in-depth knowledge on the operation of the logistics sector to be a reference in the opening and consolidation of markets for horticultural products.

Úrsula Ruiz

Úrsula Ruiz (Lorca, 1983) has been ten times champion of Spain of release of weight outdoors and nine times in indoor track.

It has been awarded the Sports Merit Award of the Region of Murcia in its section 'To the best sporting event of the year 2017'.
